About me

I grew up in California, near Stanford University. I'm still a bit of a California fanboy. Don't worry, you'll notice. I attended Menlo-Atherton High School, and I did my undergraduate at UC Santa Cruz, majoring in linguistics.

I was always very interested in various science and social studies things, especially history. I discovered my passion for languages and linguistics in high school. Starting with interests in phonology, morphology, and writing systems, I caught the syntax bug while at Santa Cruz. Now I guess I do that full time or something like that.

Hobbies & Interests

Some activities I enjoy in my free time include cooking, games that involve hitting stationary balls into holes with a stick (namely billiards and golf), and playing music. I enjoy worldbuilding/conlanging and I know an unnecessary amount of Star Wars lore. My favorite Pokemon are Eevee and Flaaffy and my favorite generation is IV. I usually play blue decks in MtG.

I also really like dogs and planes. Favorites of the former include Samoyeds and Australian Shepherds, and favorites of the latter include the 747SP, SR-71, and any trijet. If you have a cute dog or want to show me a cool plane, I would be delighted to see them.
